Metal Detector

Suitable for a wide-range of industries for protection of processing equipment and product purity.   Metal Detectors should only be used when tramp metals are an occasional or rare problem.  Too much metal triggering the Metal Detector and shutting down a conveyor, can be costly in downtime and loss of production.  

If tramp metals are more prevalent, Metal Detectors should be used in conjunction with an appropriate magnet in front of the Metal Detector, for full protection and less downtime.

Disc Separators

Feed material is discharged from a hopper to a vibratory feeder tray. A thin layer of material is continuously transported beneath the rotating discs where magnetic particles are attracted to the high gradient magnetic zones on the discs. The rotating discs then carry these captured particles to the discharge chutes where they are released. Scrapers mounted on chutes ensure the total discharge of magnetic particles. Non-magnetic material is then transported through a second magnetic separation zone where secondary separation occurs, and is finally discharged at the end of the machine as a clean non-magnetic product.



High Intensity Electro Magnetic Filters

The Master Magnets high intensity electromagnetic filter is designed for the continuous removal of ferrous/magnetic particles from liquid based applications.  The separator is also capable of separating a high percentage of paramagnetic particles. The Mastermag Electro Magnetic Filter is capable handling anything from 12 GPM (45 LPM) per minute to 240 GPM (900 LPM) depending on the application. The filter consists of a highly efficient computer designed coil into which a canister containing a stainless steel matrix is inserted.

Mastermag high intensity electro magnetic filters are supplied with a single inlet and outlet to and from the matrix. The product is fed to the separator at the bottom via a butterfly valve passing up through the matrix. The Matrix will then use its amplified magnetic field to capture magnetic particles found in the product stream, allowing the cleaned product to pass out the top of the separator. To clean the separator, contaminates are washed down through the matrix with automatic cycle once the separator is de-energized. Mastermag electro filters are available at 2500, 5000 and 10 000 gauss strengths to meet different applications.



Induced Roll Separator

The Mastermag induced roll magnetic separator is used for the continuous extraction of small magnetic particles from certain minerals to produce mineral purification for a wide range of mineral and ceramic processing industries. The material being treated is fed from a hopper or vibratory feeder at a controlled rate onto a high intensity magnetic roll.

Magnetic material attaches itself onto the roll face or is deflected towards the roll. Non magnetic material is thrown off the face at a normal trajectory. Magnetic material is discharged off the roll face at a point of lower magnetic intensity aided by a brush. A splitter plate is interposed between the two product streams.

Sizes are manufactured to suit the application.

Masteroll Rare Earth Separators

The Mastermag Masteroll separator incorporates the most powerful rare earth permanentmagnet currently available manufactured using Neodymium Iron Boron magnets making it a high intensity and a high gradient separator.

It is used to extract ferromagnetics (highly magnetic material) and paramagnetics (less easily magnetized material), enabling the separator to create a cleaner product with no metal contamination.

The Masteroll separator can benefit a wide range of industries to include the most common of dry mineral processing and ceramic and powder industries.

The Magnetic separator operates with the material being fed onto a short centered conveyor via a vibratory feeder. While non-magnetics are discharged forward of the roll in the normal trajectory, the magnetic elements are securely held to the belt and are discharged down the rear chute only when the belt leaves the Masteroll.

Both the vibratory feeder and the magnetic roll operate from independently variable speed drives, allowing for peak separation flexibility.



Wet Drum Separators

Wet drum separators are mainly used for the recovery of magnetic or ferrosilicon in dense media plants and iron ores. Wet drum separators work on a similar principle to our other existing drum separators. As there is a stationary magnet system with several radial poles, which attract the magnetic material to the drum face. The rotating cover then carries the magnetics from one pole to another, at the same time rotating the magnetic particle to allow trapped non-magnetics to free fall.

This should then produce a clean magnetic product completing the magnetic separation process. Wet drum separators have three basic designs that work with 3 different types of applications, they are concurrent, counter flow and countercurrent. The purpose of this is to ensure that we can meet recovery figures of 99.9% when dealing with different solid to liquid ratios.



Wet High Intensity Mineral Separator WHIMS

The Mastermag wet high intensity, high gradient WHIM separators are used for the continuous extraction and concentration of fine paramagnetics (less magnetic material) presented in a wet state. They are used when a material cannot be separated in a dry state. WHIM units can be designed as single, double, 4-station or 8-station units.

The 8-station separator has a capacity of up to 160 tons per hour. It is able to separate material from approximately 7/64” (3mm) down to a few microns. In all cases we would recommend our sample testing service beforehand to determine the best criteria for separation. The WHIM separator consists of 2 annular rings carrying a carefully arranged matrix composed of triangular section magnetic stainless steel bars, rotating between a powerful electro field magnet. Each section while in the magnet zone forms into many very powerful magnets producing very high fields, because of the proximity to each other.

The matrix is arranged so that the feed material has to pass through a multitude of powerful magnets. The feed pulp is then fed through the nozzles in the matrix region. As the feed pulp passes through the matrix, magnetic particles are attracted and held to the matrix, while magnetic particles pass through to be collected. While the magnet material is still in the separation zone, it is given a light jet wash removing any trapped non-magnetic material or any material that is feebly magnetic. Finally to create product purification, the magnetic material is carried by the matrix to a point where the magnet no longer has any influence, to be washed off by more power jet wash.
